Mazda Bongo Roof Wont Open

The bleeping sounds ok but pressing the open button has no effect.

There s a mystery button in my bongo. Both can be changed. I have a 1997 2 5 ltr diesel bongo and today my roof wont go up i have never had a problem with it before so it is puzzling. There are two main points on a aft auto free top elevating roof.

The bongos originally came with a length of cord and an allen key to get the roof down manually in an emergency though. Roof not open or close. If you roof doesn t go up or down don t worry help is at hand. Asfred created the topic.

I use my 1996 bongo 2 5d a lot but have not raised the roof for a while and yesterday when trying to do so it didn t work. Then call us now. With my foot on the brake and the engine running when i operate the switch you can hear the motors operating and the alarm bleeping but the dash warning light is not lit up and the roof does not rise one jot. So i suppose it could be electrical contact as unlikely that both motors would fail as they previously worked fine. It makes a set of soft chiming beeps have you any idea what this is. Roof stuck open after motor removal hi there after a summer of constant use i decided it was time to clean the roof runners and grease up the motors because i m fed up of having to push the roof to fully open it and pull it to get it closed. One is the two main motors at the back and the other is the two main gas struts.

Perhaps you need to work out why they are not working. The owners manual will reveal whether or not there is a manual way but i doubt it.
